ResumeMatch

A CV-to-job matching tool where the AI is forbidden from inventing anything. Every judgment has to cite a quote from your own CV. I designed, built and deployed it in ten days.

The idea

Tailoring your CV to every job is good advice that costs hours per application. The obvious tool is to ask an AI for a score. Do that and it invents experience, fabricates numbers, and gives almost everyone 85%.

So the idea was the opposite: an assistant that is structurally unable to make anything up.

Section 2 of 5

The problem it solves

Three things had to be true at once

Nothing invented

Every claim has to quote your CV, so there is nothing to make up from.

Cheap enough to give away

A free tier that costs money per use gets withdrawn.

Fast enough to wait for

Nobody waits ninety seconds to decide whether to apply.

Research

How naive AI scoring fails (invented experience, a friendly 85% for everyone) and how screeners reject CVs.

User interviews

Job hunters who know they should tailor every CV and don't, because it takes hours and they can't tell which edits matter.

An eval harness before new features: twenty cases with provable answers, checked automatically.

Design

Every judgment carries its quote. Met, partial and missing look different at a glance. Rewrites show as a diff.

Development

Next.js on Vercel, FastAPI on Render, Supabase for auth and credits. A Streamlit prototype was thrown away on day two.

What I built

CV to report chooser32s · live site
The whole product in one pass: CV in, job in, and you choose a report before anything expensive runs.

The evidence rule

Your CV + the job

Paste text, upload a PDF or a screenshot, or give the job's URL.

Requirements

Each one tagged must-have or nice-to-have.

Judged with proof

Met, partial or missing, each quoting your CV, or saying there's no evidence.

Report

A score, the proof, and rewrites that only rephrase what's already there.

Every requirement gets one of three verdicts

Met

With the line from your CV that proves it

Partially met

With the partial evidence quoted

Missing

'No supporting evidence in CV', never softened

The rule is enforced by the response schema and the prompt.

Pricingresumematch.pro
Free, €3.99, €9.99, €19.99. One-off payments come first, because people pay during a job hunt and then stop.

Section 5 of 5

Where it stands

Live at resumematch.pro with four tiers through Stripe. Accounts, credits, scan history, exports and the legal pages are all real. Still to do: a real email sender, the live API key, and a VAT decision that needs an accountant.
